Last Friday, August 26, Christina and I held a Feria de Carreras (Career Fair) for our 200 students in Tercero Básico (last year of school before high school).  We invited professionals from the community to give a short, general presentation and then we divided the students into groups based on their career interests.  Present were a bank secretary, mechanic who owns his own shop and volunteers as a fire fighter, teacher, physical education teacher, mechanical engineer, business owner (owner of largest bookstore in Toto), chef/restaurant owner, and accountant.  Our CTA gave a presentation on free diversificados (high schools) in Toto and Xela, and Christina and I presented on becas (scholarships), where to find information and how to get them.
