Xantún

Thursday I visited my school in Xantún which is by far my smallest school: 18 students in all three grades combined.  I had the students make name tags and then took a picture of each of them with their name so I can begin learning their names.  I’m doing this with my other students too…there are hundreds of them.  I did the human knot – “nudo humano” – activity with my Xantún kids.  I was careful to say it correctly.  My embarrassing moment of the week was on Tuesday in Nimapá when I told my students we were going to do the “desnudo humano” (naked human).  I caught my mistake, but so did the students.  Ja ja. Very funny.

Two of my girls wanted a picture with me outside.  I took advantage of the beautiful, sunny weather to take a some pictures of the surrounding countryside….
